“Originally from Vancouver, I returned to Canada after living and working in several countries for over a decade. Because of this, I am inspired by themes of travel and discovery, and the memories we have of places familiar to us.  In particular, returning to Vancouver has given me a fresh perspective on the amazing landmarks here and I like to share this discovery while exploring BC through this lens.”

Style

“I especially enjoy using a blend of modern watercolor techniques, in a loose, sketch-like way to represent architecture, landscapes, and destinations while fondly remembering and recognizing sense of place. Both my clients and viewers tell me how my inviting, understated style resonates with them, transmuting their memorable moments and journeys into something timeless. I live for this!

I also often hear how my vivid-but-soft colour palette & touch has universal appeal and that makes my illustrations excellent gifts.”

Thank you so much for your wonderful watercolour workshop, Jessica! I was so impressed watching you calmly instruct today’s multiple participating groups, especially how you catered to the various ages and experience levels. The projects worked really well, and everyone clearly appreciated making a special summer keepsake while learning new skills.”

“Jessica is so talented! I appreciated the small little details that I didn’t even notice in the photo that was in the artwork. This speaks to her eye for detail as an artist. It was also a pleasure working with Jessica. She was prompt in responding to my request and while she listened to my suggestions, also had her own creative opinion which helped to create a great final product.”
